Our story
It started with a shovel and a perfectly good suspicion.
The suspicion? That coffee could taste like more. More fruit, more clarity, more of those “wait, what is that?” moments. So we started digging — through harvests, co-ops and one too many cupping tables — looking for the micro-lots that made us put our spoons down and go quiet.
Then we played. With roast curves, rest days, and the endless puzzle of a grind setting that makes one coffee sing while its neighbour sulks. Small batches only: we roast weekly in Antwerp, so the beans you brew were never sitting around collecting our excuses.
- Digging
- We chase named farms and small plots — Fazenda Pinheiro, Nguguini AA, Rwenzori — and pay for quality so growers can keep growing it. If it doesn't make us curious, it doesn't make the bag.
- Playing
- Roasting is a sandbox. We nudge profiles until a washed Kenya sparkles and a natural Uganda turns up the volume, then we roast it again next week and see what else it can do.
- Understanding
- Every season rewrites the rules. We cup, we take notes, we argue politely about water — and we share what we learn so your brew gets better too. Nobody's done understanding coffee. That's the fun part.
-
Digging
Micro-lots, not mountains.
Traceable coffees in small quantities — bought for flavour, not to fill a warehouse.
-
Playing
Small batches, weekly roast days.
Drum-roasted in Antwerp. Enough to stay fresh, never enough to get stale.
-
Understanding
Flavour first, snobbery never.
Fruity, washed, unwashed, not so fruity — we'll help you find yours.
“We take the coffee seriously. Ourselves, much less so.”
